Dear Members of the Mount Horeb Area School District:
I am pleased to welcome you to our newly designed website. It is the desire of our school district and all of its members to keep you informed about what is going on in the district in the areas of academics, extra-curriculars, finance and building projects. We are a school district that is rapidly growing and undergoing constant change so that we can better meet the needs of our students, their families and the members of our community. As a means of giving you up-to-date information on what is going on in the school district, I have started a weekly blog that can be accessed on our home page. However, if you ever have a question that I may not have covered in my blog or you would like some more information regarding some program or aspect of the school district, I urge you to contact me by stopping into the District Office at 1304 E. Lincoln, calling me at 437-2400 extension 1211 or using my email andersonwayne@mhasd.k12.wi.us.
The Mount Horeb Area School District has a strong desire to provide the best possible education for all of its students. This desire is fostered through a caring and dedicated Board of Education, administration and staff. As your superintendent, I urge each one of you to become involved in the education of your children, grandchildren and young members of our community. Please take a hard look at our district test scores, attendance rates, staffing ratios and budgets. Read and examine our Board of Education and Committee minutes. Attend these meetings and tell the Board of Education what you feel about certain issues. I urge you to become involved because this is your school district and what we do here affects your children and the children of our entire community.
I believe that by working hard in conjunction with parents and community members our school district can provide a quality education for all of our students. We can offer our students the education they need and desire to prepare them for the challenges that life has to offer. Each year our school district examines its goals, ideals, philosophies and policies to make sure we are focused on our main goal; the education of all our children. Improvement is always necessary and possible and continues to be an ongoing process that examines where we are now and where we want to be in the future.
The future for education in this district is filled with hope and promise because of the individuals who demonstrate daily their commitment to education: parents, teachers, secretaries, paraprofessionals, custodians, food service workers, bus drivers, mechanics, maintenance technicians, administrators and board members. Everyone employed in our school district knows that children are the reason we exist and preparing them for the future is our largest priority. The Mount Horeb Area School District is filled with people who believe in protecting and promoting our greatest natural resource; children.
