• Community Update

    Fitness Center Update:  The fitness center has reopened with a new electronic lock system in place.  Those supervising the use of the room have been trained and ongoing opportunities will continue for new supervisors of the facility.
    Staffing Update:  The new Assistant Principal at the High School is Deanne Lensert.  We are still in the process of hiring an Activities Director/Assistant Principal to replace Mike Beranek who resigned to become Principal at Belmont School District.  Sarah Straka is moving from the Director of Early Learning position in which she worked with our new 4K program (as well as filling in as Assistant Principal at the High School for part of last school year) to the District’s new Director of Instruction replacing Jarred Burke who resigned.  The District will be hiring a 4K Coordinator/Student Services Specialist to replace Sarah’s position.  Martin Russell has been hired as the Building Services Coordinator to replace Gary Wilkinson who resigned.  We also have had some retirements and resignations of teaching and support staff members.  

    Communication Update:  The District is moving to a district-wide calendar for the upcoming school year.  Activities across the district will be included in one calendar.

    August 10 – Annual Meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Auditorium
    August 11 – Registration from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the High School

  • 2015 Dane County Youth Assessment (DCYA)

    We are pleased to announce that the Dane County Youth Assessment (DCYA) 2015 results have been posted to the MHASD website and are available for your review. The DCYA was administered to 7-12 grade students during the winter months of this school year.  If you have any questions, please e-mail or call Carol Nickles, Grade 6-12 Social Worker and K-12 Safe & Drug Free Schools Program Coordinator.  Her e-mail is and her phone number is 437-2400 ext 2163.  Please click on the link below to find the results.

  • The Mount Horeb Area School District Alumni Endowment announces the 20/20 Challenge.  An anonymous donor has offered a $20,000 matching donation for the first $20,000 contributed.  

    The alumni endowment provides funding for academic enhancement activities for students in grades 6 – 12. Following is additional information Alumni Endowment Challenge
