Students who turn four on or before September 1, 2017 are eligible to attend our 4K program.  Our program runs Tuesdays through Fridays and we offer AM and PM sessions.     Links to our enrollment paperwork  can be found at the bottom of this page under Announcements.

Welcome to the homepage of the MH4K website.  Mount Horeb Area School District is proud to provide four-year-old kindergarten programming to all interested and eligible four-year-old students in the school district. Four-year-old kindergarten provides children with quality early learning experiences that lay a solid foundation for future success in school. Numerous research studies show long-term benefits for children who participate in high-quality early childhood programs, such as gains in cognition, knowledge, motor skills and language. Offering 4K through the school district ensures universal access to a quality pre-kindergarten program for all four-year-olds.

Mount Horeb Area School District works collaboratively with four community child care centers and preschools to offer four-year-old programming. Participating sites include Agape Christian Preschool, Hearts and Hands Children’s Center, Little Vikings 4K & Childcare, and  Children's Community School. All 4K sites have highly-qualified, DPI-licensed teachers who work with the district on 4K programming.

We have been working hard to create an enriching, developmentally-appropriate 4K program for children. If you still have questions after visiting our webpage, please feel free to contact Nicole Tepe, 4K Coordinator via email.  (Please note that we are in the process of updating our phone system, so leaving a voicemail is currently not an option)  We look forward to this new experience for our youngest learners.

     SITE DETERMINATION

Parents have the option to identify the sites and session time they prefer when filling out the enrollment packet  by completing the  enrollment addendumWhile we strive to accommodate requests, we do not guarantee parents will get their top preference. MHASD will make final placement decisions.  Site assignments will be based primarily on previous program enrollment at a site and need for wrap-around services. Other factors that are taken into consideration include (but are not limited to) place of residence, special programming needs, transportation, available openings at the site requested, and site occupancy minimums. Please see our MH4K Placement Standard Operating Procedure for additional information about how we place students at our community sites.  Placement priority will be given to the enrollment forms received within the enrollment window.
